Message from the Chairman:
2008 was an incredible year for local Democrats. The intense primary election
was a flurry of activity that brought many new people into the political
process. I was proud of the effort of the many local volunteers for the Clinton
and Obama campaigns.
As great as the effort was during the primary, it was eclipsed as we all came
together in the fall in unprecedented numbers. The enthusiasm and excitement
grew as the historic election on November 4th approached. Democrats in Lebanon
County proved we have a voice and a presence. Our core group of volunteers has
ballooned, and we now have unlimited opportunities going forward.
The reality of running qualified candidates who can win seats at the state
and local levels has arrived. It is important to remain involved and stay active
to continue the transformation of local politics. I would like to extend an open
invitation to all Democrats to attend our meetings, get involved and make a
difference. Continue to engage your friends and neighbors so that we can
continue the growth of a party that truly represents the people of Lebanon.
Please check our website often to keep abreast of our scheduled social and
political events. We will see races for Lebanon City Council, Court of Common
Pleas and Mayor in 2009. 2010 promises a high profile U.S. Senate race, races in
the 101 and 102 state house districts and a race for the state senate seat in
the 48th district.
I look forward with great excitement and the warm thought that I have many
new Democratic friends!
