Dear LCDC Supporters,
As we start a new year, and a very busy year it will be, we want to thank you for all of your support in 2019 and for the many previous years.
As you are aware, 2020 will be a monumental year in our history. And extremely busy on the election front. Starting with the Special election for our 48th PA Senatorial seat, next Tuesday January 14th.
Being a Federal election year, the Presidential race, all Congressional races and one third of the US Senate (not PA) are up for grabs. On the state level, we also have all the PA Assembly seats and one half of the PA Senate (not the 48th). This is an especially important year for the PA assembly, because it will be redistricting our PA and US representative districts.
Having said all of this, we know that you will be / are being inundated with contribution requests of all of the Democrats running for office this year. Please give the candidates of your choice all that you can. But remember that we also need your continuing support.
The most important support you can provide is YOUR VOTE.
Second, is the time and energy you can provide by volunteering. Join our committee, and help with phone banks, door-to-door canvassing, attending rallies, etc.
Finally, we need your financial support. Our Century Club was started many years ago and has helped us maintain our office, but more importantly shows our presence in the community.
There are a multitude of levels of support from a Friend at only $25 per year, Patron ($50), Emerald ($100), Bronze ($250), Silver ($500), Gold ($1,000) or Platinum ($2,500). These levels can be attained through checks, on-line, in-kind gifts and attending/ supporting our various fundraisers.
THIS YEAR OUR ANNUAL RECOGNITION BREAKFAST, free to Emerald members and above, will be held at HEISEY’S DINER ON ROUTE 72, at 9:30 – Noon, ON FEBRUARY 1ST.

About Anna Cunha
Anna Cunha led a life filled with political action. First, she knew that the Lebanon County Democratic Committee needed financial support, so she rallied donors and set an example for all of us. She was a one-woman ways and means committee! Not content to secure funds, Anna also served as a judge of elections, as a committee person, and as Assistant Treasurer of LCDC. Wherever there was a need or a
political event, Anna was there for us for over 40 years.
Secondly, in addition to being a terrific role model, she worked for Democratic women locally by making sure that the Women’s Democratic Club of Lebanon Valley thrived and was officially chartered by the Pennsylvania Federation of Democratic Women (PFDW) in 1964. She served on the board of PFDW and, in 1984, PFDW
recognized her as their Woman of the Year.
Anna passed away January 15, 2013, and our Century Club was soon named in her honor. Born September 11, 1927 in Lebanon, Anna enjoyed her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, but she also managed to put in over 35 years working for the Quality Inn. She was a member of St. Mary’s Church, the PA Council of the Blind, and the American Council of the Blind. And I am told she enjoyed bingo and puzzles in her spare time…..
It is fitting that we recognize her as we build our Anna Cunha Century Club membership.
